The purpose of the PADI Equipment Specialist course is to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of diving equipment.

REQUIRED AGE/CERTIFICATION LEVEL

• Minimum Age 10 years old and PADI Open Water certification/Junior Open Water certification, or have a qualifying certification from another organization.

COURSE OVERVIEW

• This is a class based course where part of the lesson is in the form of lectures and interactive discussion.
• The other is hands on experience where you inspect-test equipment and give opinions and recommendations regarding action plans.
• This course will expand your knowledge and understanding on the theory, principles and operation of dive equipment.
• Students will learn the maintenance requirements, valuate equipment safety, and proper storage after use.
• Latest and greatest equipment and techniques will also be discussed.
• PADI Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving is recommended reading for this course.
• This course can be credited towards a program of specialty courses to achieve the Master Scuba Diver rating.
